Science Fair - InQuest
InQuest 2022
The CAJCS FSA Club hosted the 8th edition of our school’s science fair, InQuest 2022, on Friday, 25th November, 2022. Students from ten schools in Mumbai (including our school) displayed informative projects centered around this year’s theme – “Time”. The twenty-four projects were judged by three research scholars from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai: Mr Ankit Dulat, Mr Pankaj Kumar, and Ms Sunandita Paul. The event was graced by a chief guest, Dr Jayant Joshi, a researcher at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), India.
The event, which lasted over five hours, had three inter-school and three intra-school winners, as well as an intra-school verbal mention for creativity. In the inter-school category, the project “Sea Level Indicator” by Prisha Singh, Shubh Nirvan, and Hridhuun Savant of Bombay Scottish School, Powai secured the first place; “Garfield’s Lasagna” by Snigdha Chapheka, Siddhant Pinto, and Rishabh Gajjar of Vissanji Academy secured the second place; and “Wax Worms and Plastic” by Aarav Nambhiar, Aditya Nair, and Dhruv Thakkar of SSRVM Mulund secured the third place. In the intra-school category, the projects “Smart Irrigation System” by Anainah Adajania and Rishima Mittal; “Effect of Magnetic Fields on Rate of Plant Growth” by Maira Gracias and Mitali Rao; and “Electrociency” by Anshi Nanavati, Armaann Bhansali, and Ishaan Raghavan won the high commendation prize. “Time Dilation Explained Using GPS” by Mariam Husain received the intra-school verbal mention for creativity.
InQuest 2022 was coordinated by teachers of the FSA club, spearheaded by Mrs Mehra, the Secretaries of the FSA Club, and a three-member organizing committee from the 11th grade: Hrishit Asar, Aakash Shankar, and Shikhar Sehgal. The team worked tirelessly over four months and succeeded in putting up a truly enlightening experience.
