Composting
Composting is a controlled, natural decomposition process where microorganisms feed on organic food waste materials.
Our housekeeping staff were trained in the process. We now compost food scraps from our pantry and canteen and dry leaves and from our compounds.
The end product is compost – a dark, crumbly, earthy-smelling material which can be used as natural manure for fertilising the plants in our school premises.
