Full STEAM Ahead (FSA) Club
The Full STEAM Ahead (FSA) Club aims to promote STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) by providing opportunities for STEAM-based extracurricular activities in school. While the existing clubs provide opportunities for a wide variety of co-curricular activities, the growing interest in STEAM-based activities is addressed through FSA.
When FSA was formed, the initial idea was that a group of students should be able to come together and work towards something that they were passionate about. In the past few years, FSA has worked as a society and organised events such as the school science fair, the annual school hackathon, the Cathedral Math Competition, and the Art STEAM exhibition. While simultaneously running a YouTube channel, a podcast and a newsletter.
As the newest club, FSA will expand its purpose to select school students to participate in renowned national and international competitions, including the First Tech Challenge (FTC), International Young Physicists Tournament (IYPT), the IRIS National Fair and maths and science Olympiads. We believe that we are at a unique position to be able to leverage the experience of the teachers of the club as well as senior students who have represented India and the school at these competitions, to mentor school teams and students.
For students who want to embrace this change of multidisciplinary learning, FSA serves as the medium to do so, simply because that is how most things at FSA start, the simplest of ideas are what make and run the club to this day. Above all, through FSA we would hope to further curiosity and passion for STEAM, while simultaneously providing a platform for students to explore their interests.
