Food Donation Drive
FOOD DONATION DRIVE
The Cathedral and John Connon Middle School organised a Food Donation Drive in August 2021 as part of the Annual Project, ‘The World on My Plate’, which dealt with the topic of food. Project-based learning is a teaching approach that engages students in collaborative real-world problem solving. Experiential learning through social service became a natural extension of our Project. The children enthusiastically donated over 600 food packages, each containing basic rations to meet one family’s meal requirements for a week. The total ration collected amounted to 1220 kgs of rice, 600 kgs of dal and 300 kgs of pulses and jaggery powder each. These were donated to children coming from underprivileged families in the Charni Road area of Mumbai. Every package went with a handwritten note from our students; after all, food is best enjoyed when put together with love!
