On 6th July, renowned educationist Dr. Anahita Lee was invited to the Middle School to conduct a full day workshop for the English and Hindi teachers. She explained the concept of learning destiny, which states that most things that are learned by students are quickly forgotten after the exams. It is the teacher’s job to ensure that he/she teaches the subject in such a way that the students remember it for a long time. She enlightened the teachers about ‘The Theory of Multiple Intelligences’ by Dr. Howard Gardner and explained how different children had different styles of learning. She conducted various hands on activities with the teachers to demonstrate how the same topic can be taught in a non-conventional way to suit the needs of different learners. She also provided the teachers with handouts containing resources and ideas that the teachers could implement in their daily teaching. The teachers left for the day brimming with enthusiasm to use the techniques they had been taught by Dr. Lee.
