On 5th June, educational psychologist, Ms. Nayomi Kothari was invited to the Middle School to conduct a workshop on ‘Learning Disabilities’ for the teachers. She explained the four major types of learning disabilities which can be observed in both children and adults. She also narrated her own experiences with learning disabled children to help the teachers understand the difficulties they go through. She described some innovative teaching methods that could be employed by the teachers to address the needs of differently abled learners. She also provided the teachers with hand-outs containing resources and ideas that they could implement in their daily teaching. The workshop greatly enhanced the teachers’ knowledge and understanding of children with learning disabilities.
