On 4th Dec’14, the talented musicians of the Furtado’s School of Music entertained the children of the Middle School with a programme on the Blues genre of western music. Ms. Dana Gillespie, the famous Blues singer and the first lady to play Mary Magdalene in Webber’s super-hit musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, was the guest of honour. She explained several nuances of the genre of Blues music. She enlightened the children about how it originated, its variations in different parts of America and how it differs from Jazz. She also ensured that everyone in the audience sang along with her to various foot tapping Blues numbers. The show was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all.
