On the 16th of January, 2018, the English Department hosted their annual inter-section competition, ‘Eloquently Yours’, in the quest to hail the most eloquent section in Middle School.
The competition was graded and progressive in terms of levels of complexity, with Class 5 being quizzed on spellings, requiring them to identify the correct spellings from the multiple choices provided, through a rapid fire round.
Class 6 had to keep their wits about them as they were provided with visual clues or antonyms and synonyms, requiring them to guess ‘What’s the Good Word?’ Additionally, through an audio-visual presentation, they were quizzed on popular idioms and proverbs.
Class 7 needed to present their public speaking skills, while outwitting their fellow contestants, in the extempore ‘Just-a-Minute’ and ‘Turncoat’ rounds.
Section B was adjudged to be the winners!
