Vice Principal – Mrs. N Samuel
It is undoubtedly a great pleasure and an honour to be a part of all that makes up the fibre and being of this great institution, The Cathedral & John Connon School. There has never been a dull moment since the day I joined as Vice-Principal on the 1st of March, 2011. Besides attaining excellent results on the academic front, it is indeed heartening to see our youngsters also winning accolades in extra-curriculars, be it in swimming, basketball, football, badminton or cultural activities like debates, elocutions, dramatics etc. We truly provide a holistic education to our young wards, aptly summed up in the words of Sydney J. Harris, “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”

Capturing the essence of an institution as varied and diverse as Cathedral is a daunting task. As the corridors and class rooms of the school reverberate with laughter and fun, they also unfold the myriad activities that every student partakes in. Always keeping the holistic end in view of enriching each child in body, mind and spirit, the school year gallops ahead as it instils pride in one’s alma mater while building a confident identity for each student, as they become global citizens. The presence of Cathedralites is seen everywhere, be it the world of medicine and science, in the bastions of political power, in sports, in architecture and engineering, in the echelons of business and commerce; we see them as artists, painters, dancers, actors; as teachers, writers and poets. With inter-house, inter-school, national and international events going hand in hand with the rigours of the academic curriculum, each day flies past. A hundred and fifty years legacy is a proud milestone as we continue to climb upward and onward, with the words of the school song ingrained in the heart:
“School First, House Next, Self Last”.
